A new year means a new team here at ScotGEM Stories. Let’s introduce ourselves!
Year 4s

I’m Olivia (Liv) Watt and I’m now in my fourth and final year of ScotGEM. I recently finished my Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC) year in Tayside, remaining here for final year. I really enjoyed my time in General Practice last year, getting to know patients and providing continuity of care. I am looking forward to exploring secondary care more this year, especially Paediatrics and Psychiatry.
Prior to ScotGEM, I completed an MSci with Industrial Placement in Biochemistry and then worked in Human Nutrition research.
It’s now my third year with ScotGEM Stories and I’m looking forward to working with the new additions to the team this year.

Hi I’m Josie and I am currently based in Tayside for my final year. Before ScotGEM, I studied pharmacology in Edinburgh. The things I love most about ScotGEM are the opportunities to experience rural medicine all over Scotland, the consistent hands-on exposure to general practice during our LIC year, and the ScotGEM community.
Year 3

Hi! I’m Emy, a third year ScotGEM student based in Dumfries and Galloway for my LIC. I am currently enjoying the charms of rural medicine and I’m looking forward to another year with ScotGEM Stories!
Year 2

Hi!! I’m Liv Whittle Wright and I’m the second year rep for ScotGEM stories. I’ve spent the first 8 weeks of second year in Dumfries and Galloway, I’m now in Inverness until Christmas and will be in Fife January onwards. Previously, I studied Population Health and Medical Sciences, and then did a Medical and Health Care MSc by Research at Swansea University. One thing I love about ScotGEM is the ability to move around and explore Scotland, whilst also studying holistic medicine.
Year 1s

Heyy, I’m Racheal, a first year Scotgem student. I live in Amsterdam most of the time, but have lived around a few places. I graduated from Applied Medical Sciences at Swansea University this year and moved straight on up here to Scotland. I’m really enjoying the differences and beauty of this place and can’t wait to explore more – any tips welcome.

I’m Ana, a first year ScotGEM student. I’m originally from Brazil, but I’ve been calling Scotland home for the past nine years. I recently graduated as an Adult Nurse at Stirling University. I’m currently based in Anstruther and when I have some free time, I enjoy paddle boarding and participating in the local Boat Club.
I’m particularly passionate about healthy living, preventive medicine, and finding ways to improve health and reduce disease through diet and lifestyle changes. I’m looking forward to contribute to the ScotGEM Stories team and help sharing experiences and insights from our community!
