Island Life

Moving further away from home to the Western Isles in the middle of a global pandemic was perhaps a bit of a surprising decision to some people, but after feeling trapped in a city for months of lockdown I didn’t have to think too hard about it. I did worry about the potential isolation, but as it turned out, that wasn’t an issue at all.

Finding my Feet

As cliché as it may sound, time really does fly. I can still vividly remember how excited and, of course, nervous I was the night before starting my first day as an FY1. Now in less than a month, I will be moving on to FY2. It has been quite a rollercoaster ride for the past year, but I am glad that I did it with this bunch of people in Dumfries.

I’ve decided to write some reflections about what led me to my current post at DGRI as a Clinical Teaching Fellow, and what I’ve learned over the past few months.
